War Memorial
Brackley Town War Memorial was approved for Grade II Listing after renovation and cleaning in 2015. There are 85 names on the freestanding memorial which commemorates the First World War (1914-1918), Second World War (1939-1945) and Afghanistan (2001-2014).
The memorial has a three-stepped base surmounted by a three-tiered octagonal column and cross. A brick wall surrounds the memorial. The lower tier has the incised names of the theatres of war and the great battles. The names of the fallen are incised on the middle tier, tablets on either side of the entrance and the coping stones.
The Annual Remembrance Service and Parade takes place at 15:00 on Remembrance Sunday. This is co-ordinated by The Royal British Legion (Brackley Branch) in association with Brackley Town Council. There is also a short Act of Remembrance also takes place at 11:00 on Armistice Day every year.
