World Parkinson's Day - April 11 2025

The Town Hall and Egerton Hall are lit up in blue today to mark World Parkinson’s Day — held each year on 11 April to raise awareness and celebrate the birthday of Dr James Parkinson, who first identified the condition. It’s a small gesture to show support for everyone affected.

If you or someone you love has been affected by Parkinson’s, follow the support link below. Trained advisers, including specialist Parkinson’s nurses, can provide information and advice on all aspects of living with the condition, such as:

• medical issues, including symptoms and treatments
• employment and benefits
• health and social care
• emotional support
• local activities 
• signposting to other sources of information
