Notice of road closure, Radstone Road
What are we doing?
In early February, our teams will be completing utility diversions as well as tie in works for the temporary diversion of Radstone Road, sometimes known as Brackley Road. This temporary diversion will allow us to keep the road open while we begin our main construction works for the Radstone Road Overbridge. This new overbridge will carry traffic over the HS2 railway line.
We will be knitting the temporary diversion into the current road network and these works will involve road surfacing, white lining and a vehicle restraint barrier. To avoid additional road closures this spring, we are working collaboratively with BT who will also be utilising this closure to divert existing utility cables within the carriageway. Our teams have tried to keep the existing road open but unfortunately due to a variation in road level between the existing road and new temporary diversion are unable to do so safely.
To carry out these works safely and effectively, we will need to put in place full 24 hour road closure with a signed diversion. This is for reasons of safety, as our staff will be working directly in the carriageway. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
During this road closure, access will be maintained for cyclists. For safety, cyclists will be asked to dismount and proceed with caution.
When will these works take place?
A section of Radstone Road will be fully closed 24 hours a day from Monday 12 February to Friday 23 February 2024.
Should there be delays to our works due to weather, our teams have consent to complete these works on the following contingency dates, Monday 26 February to Friday 1 March.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and our teams will work to reopen the road as soon as possible.
