Next Steps Following Public Meeting

Posted in Brackley Town Council

We are committed to working with the community to find a compassionate and balanced way forward.

We would like to sincerely thank the public for their honest, thoughtful, and informative contributions.

We deeply regret how the recent meeting concluded. The decision for councillors to remain silent was intended as a mark of respect—to fully listen to the voices of our community. On reflection, we recognise that including a question-and-answer session would have provided the public with an opportunity to have their queries answered in real time.

We acknowledge that current regulations no longer fully reflect the needs of the community, and we are now in the process of reviewing them.

Every point raised at the meeting has been carefully noted. As we move forward, we will continue to listen and learn via smaller group discussions with residents, to gather additional insights that will help guide our next steps.

We will continue to update the public as we progress through this process via our website.

By considering public input from emails, the recent meeting, and upcoming discussions, we will explore appropriate changes to the current regulations to ensure the cemetery remains a respectful and tranquil resting place, while embracing the emotional significance that personal tributes hold for our residents.

We are listening to our community, and are committed to ensuring the cemetery is a peaceful and dignified place for all.
