National Highways - NOTIFICATION OF ESSENTIAL SURVEY WORKS A43 Northbound

Posted in Roads & Transport

National Highways will be carrying out essential survey works on the A43 Northbound between Barley Mow Roundabout and Oxford Road Roundabout.

Our survey work will include:

  • Carrying out a topographical survey where we can map out boundaries, features and levels of the site.
  • Trial holes to establish the components / make up of the carriageways.
  • Vegetation clearance.

When will the work take place?

Work is planned to start surveying the area on Monday 22 July 2024 and Tuesday 23 July 2024. To keep disruption to a minimum, They will deliver work overnight between 8pm to 6am.

The surveys are estimated to take 2 shifts of overnight works and the closure of the local arms of the roundabout are estimated to take 1 night.

Please note that all our planned survey works may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

How will the work affect traffic?

For the safety of workforce and motorists, traffic management for the surveys will be required as follows. During the overnight closures, clearly sign-posted diversion routes will be in place:

  • 22nd July – Full closure will be required for Charlton Road with ring management on the roundabout. Layby closures both during the day and night.
  • 23rd July – Ring management on the roundabout to cover access to the centre of the roundabout.
