Join the Parish Path Warden Scheme
Join the Parish Path Warden Scheme to help ensure our local footpaths are kept in in great condition.
As a Parish Path Warden, your role will be to regularly check local paths for any issues such as overgrowth, obstructions, or wear and tear. You don’t need to be an expert—just someone with a keen eye for detail who can assess different needs. A path may be clear for some users, but challenging for others, and it’s important to consider accessibility for all.
The main goal of the scheme is to involve the community in monitoring and reporting the condition of public paths. By participating, you can help ensure that routes are not obstructed, are clearly defined, and are properly maintained, which will promote safe and enjoyable walking for everyone.
You will be provided with training on how to use the system to report any defects and track their progress. Additionally, WNC provide quarterly newsletters showcasing the work that the scheme is enabling in local communities.
