Giving Brack to Brackley
Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team were delighted to once again sponsor the Brackley Fireworks, which took place on Saturday 2 November to a record crowd of 10,000 local visitors.
The Brackley Fireworks remains a popular event in the town’s social calendar, and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team – who are based off Oxford Road – were proud to sponsor the festivities for another year running.
Taking place on Saturday 2 November at Magdalen College School, the event – which is managed by Brackley Town Council – provided a fantastic evening of family fun and entertainment. In addition to a spectacular fifteen-minute display, visitors enjoyed a range of hot food and drink stalls, an exciting LED drummer show, and the chance to get up close with the team’s replica W15 show car.
Last year’s event saw nearly £8,000 raised for charity, with £2,700 raised via bucket collections for the team’s chosen charity Mind, and close to £5,000 collected for fifteen local groups that included the Banbury and District Samaritans, Girlguiding Brackley District, and The Brackley Branch of The Royal British Legion. We look forward to sharing how much was raised from this year’s event in due course.
On supporting the display, the team’s Chief Operating Officer Rob Thomas said:
“Giving back to the town that has been our home for so many years now is incredibly important to us, and we hope all of those in attendance on Saturday 2 November had a brilliant time.
We are always proud to sponsor the Brackley Fireworks display and would like to take this opportunity to thank Brackley Town Council for their hard work and dedication in making the event so memorable. It was especially nice to have good weather on the night, too!
It’s fantastic to bring the local community together in this way, and to see the positive impact the evening has on so many charities and community groups.”
