Event Road Closures - Christmas Market, Lantern Parade and Light Switch On
Are you planning on attending the Brackley Christmas Market, Lantern Parade, and Light Switch On tomorrow? If so, it's important to be aware of the road closures that will be taking place on Saturday 25 November. These closures are necessary to ensure the safety of all attendees and to allow the festivities to take place without interruption.
- Town Hall slip roads and parking bays by Brackley Bar and Grill: 11:00-20:00
- High Street full closure from Buckingham Road to Banbury Road: 16:30-19:00
- Rolling road closure on High Street from Halse Road to Buckingham Road: 16:30-17:30
If you are attending the event and participating in the lantern parade, please meet at Winchester House for 16:45 and please enter via the High Street. Manor Road entrance will be shut. The parade will commence at 17:15.
At 17:30, the Christmas lights will be turned on by the Mayor of Brackley, Cllr Sue Sharps.
We will have spare lights for lanterns on the evening, just in case your original one isn't working. Look for our member of staff at Winchester House with a lantern reading LIGHTS.
Please walk slowly, and keep together in the parade, remember to hold your lanterns up high as we walk down the High Street.
Please remember to visit the many businesses around Brackley Market Place and High Street who will be open during the event. There will be lots of choice for Christmas gift ideas and festive treats. Shops will also be opening until 6pm on Fridays in December. And of course, during this festive season don’t forget our fantastic local hospitality, hair, beauty, well being and service businesses – shop local this Christmas to support our town.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
