Brackley Christmas Lights - Update
Brackley Town Council is pleased to announce that a resolution with the Christmas light contractors has been reached and after many negotiations, they have promised to dress some of the big trees on the High Street. The installation will be completed soon and the lights will be switched on for all to see.
We were left in a difficult position with only 24 hours’ notice from the contractors, and felt incredibly frustrated that the trees would not be dressed before our light switch on event. However, we have worked hard to reach a solution with them and would like to thank everyone for their offers of help.
The Council acknowledges that the delay in installation has caused disappointment among the community. The staff worked tirelessly to ensure that the Christmas Market traders still had footfall and the lantern parade had its maximum impact whilst also ensuring that there were still some lights to switch on in the Marketplace/Town Hall area.
Brackley Town Council believed that it was important to maintain the festive spirits of the community and the decision was made to continue with the event which was a great success, especially for those who had booked a market stall and decorated a lantern.
We aim to have the lights turned on just in time for the Brackley Christmas Tractor Run this weekend.
