£607.10 raised at Turkey-Syria Earthquake Fundraiser
On Friday 24 February, Brackley residents were invited to a morning of coffee and cake in Brackley Town Hall in order to raise money for the emergency earthquake appeal for Turkey and Syria.
Brackley Town Council and councillors felt it was important to come together and raise funds for the families and communities that need urgent support and aid following this natural disaster.
The event was organised by Deputy Mayor, Councillor Sue Sharps with the help of Councillor Kate Nash, Councillor Luke Young, Councillor Jeremy Gladwin and Councillor Scott Langford who all helped serve drinks and cake throughout the morning.
Cakes were kindly donated by The Old Fire Station and local home bakers, which proved to be a huge success as a total of £607.10 was raised between 10am and 12 noon. All money raised will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
Thank you to everyone who attended. If you were unable to attend the coffee morning and would still like to donate towards the total amount, please contact Brackley Town Council on 01280 702 441.
Our thoughts are with the people of Turkey and Syria, along with their families and communities who have been affected by the devastating earthquakes.
