We have room for a few more traders so if you sell anything different to the above contact the Town Council on 01280 702441.

It is important a market keeps its regular traders so customers know that, should there be any problems or faults with goods, the trader will be back next week. On the other hand the traders need to know that the customers will be back!!!!!!!! PLEASE SUPPORT THEM

THE PUBLICATION SCHEME

The Information Commissioner's Office has now developed and approved a new model publication scheme which can be adopted by town/parish and community councils. Brackley Town Council has adopted the new model scheme which will be operational from 1 January 2009. For the avoidance of doubt the new Model Scheme is generic in nature (i.e. it is for all public authorities irrespective of them being a local authority) and is not sector specific.

The model scheme is also available on the Information Commissioners website at www.ico.gov.uk - the easiest way of locating it is to click on Publication Schemes under the A-Z listing.

Please also click here to view Brackley Town Council's publication.

Blooming Brackley to be Extended

Blooming Brackley to be Extended

“Residents of Brackley, quite contrary (no, not really) – how does your garden grow?”

One of our residents wrote to the Town Council recently praising the planters through the centre of the town and asking if this could be extended to include private homes and possibly schools.

The matter has been discussed by the councillors and it has been agreed to hold a ‘Blooming Brackley' competition this year.

There will be three categories – garden, window box and hanging baskets.

Those wishing to participate will need to complete an application form which must be submitted to the Town Clerk by 31 May latest.

Judging will take place between 8 and 14July and will be carried out by the Town Mayor and the Deputy Town Mayor.

The timing is to allow schools to take part if they wish as the decision will be made public before schools break up for the summer holidays.

Entry is free. Prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners-up in all categories. Individuals are asked to enter for one category only. The judges' decision will be final.

If you would like an application form, please contact the Town Hall on Brackley 702441 and we will post you a copy or click here to download a copy. Alternatively, e-mail the Town Clerk on town.clerk@brackleynorthants-tc.gov.uk and a form can be e-mailed to you.

If this pilot run is successful, this will hopefully become an annual event.

REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE AND SERVICE
Brackley Town Council in association with Brackley & District Branch of the
Royal British Legion held the annual Remembrance Service on Sunday 8th November.  The Service was led by the Town Mayor's Chaplain, The Revd Nicholas Gandy.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the collection which raised the wonderful sum of £840

The Mayor Caryl Billingham writes:

As a mark of respect to Corporal Nicholas Webster-Smith, the Union flag was at half-mast at the Town Hall for three days.   Additionally, I have asked my chaplain to say a prayer for Nicholas, his family and friends at the Remembrance Day parade in the Market Place.   I believe that Nicholas is the first serviceman from Brackley to die in active combat since the Second World War.
